Meet the Cameo Team  - Margaret Johnson

Margaret Johnson L.R.E.A.
Managing Director & Principal Licensee

Margaret’s considerable and successful “hands-on” operational skills in small business ownership resulted in her being nominated for the Telstra’s Business Woman of the Year Award in 1997. Recognition of her contribution to the business community was also rewarded with a seat on the Northern Territory Chief Minister’s Women’s Advisory Board and as a Representative for the Business & Professional Women’s Association Federation Forum advising the Prime Minister of concerns within the small business community.

Professionally Margaret is highly skilled in sales, administration and team management and has applied these talents to a broad range of industries including Hospitality, Events Management and Retail. She fully utilises her far-reaching intuitive ability and exceptional creativeness to think “outside the box” to achieve results beyond expectations.

Margaret sees being respected and recognised by her peers as the far greater reward and revels in the fact that there is now an expectation of her not to be part of a “sea of sameness”

Margaret’s “human interests” saw her appointed as a Governor of the 40th District of Quota International, an International Executive & Business Women’s Organisation. She was one of the youngest ever appointed and received the International Presidents Award for her efforts.

Her more treasured memories as Governor were of the successes in the establishment of schools, health centres, immunisation programs and women’s refuges in third world and developing countries. Funding for medical research in areas such as Breast Cancer, speech and hearing impairment and tropical diseases was aggressively and competitively sought in Australia, a skill that she further developed and applied years later to assisting small and medium enterprises to fund their establishment & growth.

Early in Margaret’s Real Estate career she was invited to participate in a Business Globalisation Seminar at Harvard University (1996) which gave further scope to her unique approach to business. Much of her extensive training in Real Estate disciplines was undertaken in the USA where she adopted many of their unique skills in Marketing, Time Management and Interpersonal Communications making her a very effective multi-tasker and skilled negotiator. Margaret is a “people person” in every sense.

Current qualifications held are the Securities Institute’s Certificate III in Financial Markets and the REIQ Certificate IV in Real Estate Agency Practice (Qld).; there are also plans in place to undertake a Law Degree specialising in Property Law.

Margaret has learnt over the years to balance her business and personal life, believing that we should “work to live” not “live to work”. As a grandmother of five she indulges herself with her young grandchildren’s company at every opportunity and quieter times will see her tucked away somewhere with a good book and an excellent ‘drop of wine”.
